Heat pipe radiator is a new product produced by using heat pipe technology to make major improvements to many old radiators or heat exchange products and systems. There are two types of heat pipe radiators: natural cooling and forced air cooling. The thermal resistance of air-cooled heat pipe radiator can be made smaller, and it is often used in high-power power supplies.

The heat pipe has two particularly important functions: the first is to quickly transfer heat; the second is to balance the heating points, which can greatly enhance the performance of the radiator and meet the heat dissipation requirements of high-heating graphics cards.
After the graphics card radiator is added to the heat pipe, many classic heat dissipation design structures have been produced. For example, the famous "keel" radiator uses a heat pipe to draw heat from the base to the fins, and then surround the fan in a ring. Use fan air flow to dissipate heat to the surroundings. This type of radiator solves the disadvantages of uneven heat conduction and slow heat dissipation when the heat sink is used alone. In addition, some side-blown radiators often use heat pipes to balance the temperature of the fins and the core, and they also get very good results.
However, the heat dissipation area of the fins of this annular heat pipe design is not large enough, so neither the heat exchange area nor the heat storage capacity is strong enough, or it can not meet the needs of high-end graphics cards. In order to solve this problem, the designer used multiple heat pipes to conduct heat from the core, then densely arranged a large number of fins, and then used a fan to blow air to quickly take away the heat from the fins. The application of the heat pipe greatly improves the heat dissipation capacity of the air-cooled radiator. Therefore, manufacturers have worked hard on heat pipe radiators. From the perspective of development and trends, heat pipe air-cooled radiators are not only the mainstream of graphics card cooling, but also the mainstream of cooling design for a long time in the future.
